Today's cell discussion topic was real gross. I wished I could have missed it. Whoa, you wouldn't believe Sarah and Lih Yu. Faith,Jamie,Evelyn and I are SAFE. from THAT much exposure to corruption.
Seriously, it is so sick, i don't even wanna mention it here. I mean please, on church grounds, you mention this stuff? And you find it funny some more. Don't you think it's a bit embarrassing for the rest of us? We have no... comment. And its like, TRY READING OUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS. do we look like we want to hear it?
Because we don't find it amusing, if you do, then just don't bring it up here. Don't you feel any shame? any shame at all? Or guilt? that you're engaging in such humour...?
Oh, and popularity, yes popularity. We were discussing popularity right? i think popularity here, now these days, we stereotype popularity under the category : pink miniskirts, blond hair and professional bitching?
Well, that stereotype has been imported here. And well, what you consider popular now, does not actually mean POPULAR. because er, you always say stuff like "the popular kids : suck/are so mean" and "She always tries to be like the popular people" like when she "tries to gossip and bitch about others"
So you see, it's what we interpret popularity to be. From American chick flicks. This is the actual meaning of popularity :
1. Widely liked or appreciated
2. Liked by acquaintances; sought after for company: "Beware of over-great pleasure in being popular or even beloved" (Margaret Fuller).
you see, GENUINE(pronounced gen-ew-win, brother, not Gwinny) popular people, don't actually WANT to be popular. they just do what they do, and get liked for what they stand for. Now isn't that like a million times better than stupid bimbotic mini skirts and stilettos?
yes, tons better. So let us try to change the term "popular" around here okay? Genuinely popular people don't mean to be popularity, they don't want it, they're merely donned with it.
I absolutely love David Arch's songs. Thanks Mona.
There's "monkey" in monalokeybanana.
HAHAHAHA.
Well,Tell that to my heart.
Caitlin
Also, Ming Xiu pointed out something that I thought was quite cool.
"You should be rejoicing during a break up, for it is a celebration"
Why? you may ask. Because you know that he/he's not the one for you, and you will know it would never have worked out anyway. It's a discovery because you know, when you look out for a partner, God meant it to be a lifepartner. So, yes, aha, shake shake,
heartbreakxo.
EditAs a follow up...
I think Bowling For Soup's High School Never Ends is a perfect illustration of what I'm trying to say. It's vulgar and crude, but nevertheless, it sums up the typical school system of America.
Four years, you think for sure
That's all you've got to endure
All the total dicks, all the stuckup chicks
So superficial, so immature
But then when you graduate
You take a look around and you say, hey! wait!
This is the same as where I just came from
I thought it was over
Aw, that's just great
The whole damn world is just as obsessed
With who's the best dressed and who's having sex
Who's got the money, who gets the hunnies
Who's kinda cute and who's just a mess
And you still don't have the right look
And you don't have the right friends
Nothing changes but the faces, the names, and the trends
High school never ends
Check out the popular kids
You'll never guess what Jessica did
How did Mary-Kate lose all that weight?
And Katie had a baby, so I guess Tom's straight
And the only thing that matters
Is climbing up that social ladder
Still care about your hair and the car you drive
Doesn't matter if you're 16 or 35
Reese Witherspoon, she's the prom queen
Bill Gates, captain of the chess team
Jack Black, the clown
Brad Pitt, the quarterback
Seen it all before, I want my money back!
The whole damn world is just as obsessed
With who's the best dressed and who's having sex
Who's in the club and who's on the drugs
Who's throwing up before they digest
And you still don't have the right look
And you don't have the right friends
And you still listen to the same shit you did back then
High school never ends
The whole damn world is just as obsessed
With who's the best dressed and who's having sex
Who's got the money, who gets the hunnies
Who's kinda cute, and who's just a mess
And I still don't have the right look
And I still have the same three friends
And I'm pretty much the same as I was back then
High school never ends
High school never ends
High school never ends
Here we go again
And people actually
want to be like this?
Getting people to hate you is considered popularity?
How superficial.
Bitching and backstabbing, that's what it takes?
Stepping on other people's throats just to be known as the number one bitch?
That's popularity?
What is this world coming to?
And, thanks, Kaela.
I'm honoured that my posts inspire you.
I'm glad to hear that, that's the first such response I've heard of.
