Reasons why I love mum.
I've never said this before but i love the fact that my mum's a doctor.
Now don't take this that I'm showing off.
Well of course I'm proud of my mum, and that she's such a strong, independent woman, the fact that she's a working mum, with a sense of humour, wonderful, faithful servant of God, and the fact that she saves lives.
It was because of God that she decided to be a doctor, not because of the pressure of her older sister or my grandma. But the fact that she found that she had to find a way to satisfy the physical need of man before the spiritual requirement of God. Thus she pursued this job, and she's still faithfully working as hard as she was in medical school.
Yes mummy.
So many people nowadays want to be doctors because of the money and the status.
Who does it for the passion anymore?
Those are real doctors.
Prof Kirpal Singh said this yesterday. "When people are sick, they need healing. They go to a doctor and ask for healing, not a cure. Any technician can give a cure, only a true doctor can give healing. Nowadays, our young doctors are no more than technicians."
by the way, Europe-anaesthesia conferences take them around the world.
This year was Italy, which we failed to go for because of H1N1,
and next year is Finland. OOOOOOOOOOOO:
I've got a list of places I wanna go. Mum's also decided to save money up for travelling instead of furnishing our house. HAHA (:
I love mum.
1. Budapest, Hungary
2. Milan/Venice, Italy
3. Paris, France
4. Ireland
5. Finland
6. Iceland
7. Florida
8. Sweden/Norway
9. Oregon.
10. New York.
I'd also like to revisit, Hervey Bay(+ Fraser)
Amsterdam(Holland), Scotland, London,
Alaska and LA.
(You notice its mostly Europe, because I love their diverse culture and their ability to speak like, 3 languages)

La Promisa
I went to catch Il Divo's 2009
The Promise World Tour, yesterday @ ze Singapore Indoor Stadium.
WHOOTWHOOT. I think they're really something, its not your usual cuppa tea, for one thing, they're pretty young, and they've got a rojak of musical training from pop, to heavy metal to opera.
And they're from all over the world, David's from America, Sebastian's from France, Urs is from Switzerland and Carlos is from Spain.
COOL HUH. And they just sing so many songs so well, they're a real entertaining bunch, clad in classic Armani suits and flawless complexions, Il Divo was to die for.
Except I have to say that Carlos is the single most disgusting, creepozoid of a man to ever walk the planet. EW. So POSER. And you wonder why he's divorced. tkstsk. =/ Wanted to PEEUKE.
"Hello Ladies, did you miss me? Its great to be back, hello to all the pretty ladies in Singapore"
EWEW.
This isn't even the worst part.
"
Did you miss me? Miss the little curl? My phone number is..."
EEEEEEEEEW. My mum and I were like AAAAAAAAWRH SHADDUP SHADDUP.
Yeah and for once, my mum likes the
American.
SEB'S THE HOTTEST LA, mummy thinks he looks stoned. and urs of course is our resident lizard, his hair's atrocious. But his voice is the best, Carlos just tries to outsing everyone.
So though I have triple eyelids today, I'm glad I went for the tour,
They sang Passera, and that's all that matters cuz it was ORHSUM. And the graphics were amaaaaz-ing.
"I LOVE YOU SEBASTIAN!"
"What was that?" (SINGAPOREAN YOU SEE)
"I LOVE YOU!"
"Oh, well I love you too!"
-Screams-

I will say nothing.
Hello guys, Well I'll tell you, Sunday's sermon was brilliantly superb.
But it was one of those really really rare times, okay actually the first, and hopefully the last,
where I feel absolutely frustrated (
in church) for some reason that I'm not conscious of.
And i dunno, maybe a hangover from Sunday or something, but this week's been turning out pretty grr, and it seems no good comes out of anything, and i'm pretty peeved, Mostly because Idk what's happening.
RAH. I know the sun will shine again, but right now its so cloudy I can't make head or tail of anything.
Maybe its because of the accumulation of little itty bitty things I've failed to tell other people, or feelings I've refused to confront, maybe some traces of anger or irritation, but I never knew it could amount to something as big as this.
Or perhaps I worry too much, maybe its just the seasonal concentration of protesterone every now and then.

Only in Singapore
We had a debate yesterday about whether Singlish should be accepted and encouraged, and because I always seem to be on the receiving end of the harder topic, I got to do the proposition.
And in my journal I had put down ALL my thoughts on why Singlish should be banished or something, but I managed to sieve out some reasons why it shouldn't, and I realise Singlish, though, is NATIVE, and I don' t think, as hard as we may try, I don't ever think we can fully get rid of it.
Well, yes the good and the bad. As I said in the battle, I think that Singlish has become such a strong element of Singapore culture that we just wouldn't be Singapore without Singlish.
And I think its fine, some stuff, that we have our own words, because nothing phrases it better than Singlish, other countries also have slang, per se, a 'you-ee' (U-turn iin Aussie), or fo' shizzle ma 'nizzle (In the US).
so you have they have, why i cannot have? BUAY SONG AH!
Yes well, but I also do agree that its pretty disgracefulu to a certain extent, so i think Singlish should be accepted, but not encouraged. I think we should make the effort to speak properly first, and then just resort to Singlish amongst our peers.
however, whilst conversing with foreigners, I really think we should put up a good front, and not be ANYTHING like Ris Low.
When Singapore becomes a gracious nation then shall Singlish be rid of this country.

Melodramatic.
Something beautiful about the way you look tonight.
Today was such a beawesome day.
I never felt more attached to church.
Aah, sweet sovereignty.

The future scares me,
The past amuses me,
Thinking mesmerizes me,
and time catches up with me.

how many times do you set love free, before you know it's supposed to be?
Blue like my hands
Blue like my heart
I drown inside
So it came that i settled for
This raft in mind
Drift away, away, away down
You never fell i picked you up
I'm waking up early
No one ever feels like they're perfect
But i feel we're perfect here
I've got to speak
My eyes can't keep this secret down and gone away
I'm feeling it shouldn't be long until we both remember why
Why we kept each other around all this time
I sensed you'd come around, boy
And here we stand
It is so strange how we've come so far and nothing's changed
We are what we are
Come so far
To keep me down and gone away
I'm feeling it shouldn't be long until we both remember why
Why we kept each other around all this time
Art's just alot of wasted paper

Get a load of me.
Happy 13th Nicole Lim (:
I need to catch up.
I need to reconnect.
I need to revitalise.
I need to stop sounding like a gatorade commercial.
I need to keep in tact.
I need to get a hold on myself.
I need to be serious.
I need to start studying hard.
I think I've found some mad passion in writing poems for people.
The kind that don't rhyme.
The kind that is paradoxical to its title.
The kind where I can just pick any word from the dictionary and incorporate feeling and meaning in it and eventually reconnect it with that word.
The kind that has a 10 syllable verse ring to it like Shakespeare texts.
:D
When I can't feel you, I've learned to reach out just the same.

The Last Song is a great book to read (: Just finished it within 24 hours, its a must read. HAHA, that is if you're someone who likes happy endings like I do.
:D
But i think Nicholas Sparks doesn't have much variation, comparing it with A Walk To Remember, its pretty much similar, but nonetheless i think he's quite a cool writer, descriptive and metaphorical.
Well not one to say, i've only read this one. Just wanted to pick up something I don't usually read because I haven't had time to read a book in ages. I also started on my Christmas cards :D
Tryna use the mac to upload Brisbane fotos, but wouldn't you believe it, FB is doing fine, but the Mac can't read my memory card.

Some mad hope
beautiful people, beautiful souls.
don't look down with a bitter heart.
Solemn souls, your sadness won't be for long.
You've got it in you, time will undoubtfully heal.
Look up, see the sun, the window of heaven.
Worry nor fret not, the kingdom awaits you.
The gates have been thrown right open.
I've found the innermost tender part of several people today,
God bless you all. You've moved me today, before this, I just never knew.
TNG nurtures wonderful souls. I'm so glad for them, really.

The one man band, reduced to sand,
A darling so dear, caused more than a tear,
Gone in a flash, reduced to ash,
A bind, a tie, all gone in a blink of an eye.
Hold on my love, you've got a call from above.
No no, lay still, see that white light, it goes beyond the hill.
For the one that's been called home to the Lord, bless you and your wonderful family.
